I was reading in a baby magazine about the “Tonic Neck Reflex,” one of many reflexes one can see in a newborn. It says that “if a baby younger than 12 months is laid on her back, she’ll turn her head to one side, extend the arm on that side, and bend her opposite arm so that the hand is near her head or chest. She will look as though she is fencing!”
I told Phil I had never heard of this, and that we should try and get a picture. Just then, we both realized she was doing it at that very moment! Hehe.
