Apple Parfait

okay, i know how some of you like snack ideas, and this is good enough to be considered dessert.

apple (can also add other fruit, like strawberries)
sugar-free, calorie free syrup (preferably vanilla, hazelnut, or caramel)
small container (about 4 oz.) vanilla yogurt
light whipped topping (e.g. cool whip)
vanilla extract

core the apple, and chop either half or the whole thing, depending on how much fruit you want. heat nonstick pan; add a couple tablespoons of syrup and sprinkle with cinnamon. add the apples, and stir around with a spatula to coat the pieces.

meanwhile, mix the yogurt with desired amount of cool whip (2-3 tablespoons) and a splash of vanilla extract. once apple pieces are slightly cooked – tender but not soggy, only a few minutes – dump the fruit on top of the yogurt. voila – yummy!

i got the idea because i really like the new dole apple fruit parfaits, and decided to try and make my own version.
